Our goal is to elevate awareness and understanding of the Foundation within our congregation, highlighting its broader purpose beyond end-of-life planning.
Since 1843, Lindenwood Christian Church has been more than just a place of worship in Memphis; it has served as a cornerstone of faith and community. Established in 1977, the Lindenwood Christian Church Foundation has become a beacon of hope, committed to supporting and expanding the church's outreach and ministry efforts. The Foundation plays an essential role in funding projects that range from local community service initiatives to building expansions and mission trips at both regional and national levels, all grounded in the values of Radical Welcome and being Jesus-centered as we strive to spread love and compassion beyond our church walls.
Inspired by a legacy of selfless giving and grounded in Theological Humility, the Lindenwood Christian Church Foundation fosters a spirit of generosity within our congregation and beyond. We believe that living generously transforms not only our church but also the wider community. By embracing our Beautifully Broken nature, we create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed and valued. Through our efforts in service and outreach, we seek to embody the teachings of Jesus, ensuring that our initiatives reflect love and compassion for all.

Your contributions sustain and grow our ministries, from our Young Hearts childhood programs to supporting two impactful worship services each week. Each gift spreads hope and love, touching more lives.

We serve Memphis through various volunteer services, including food drives in partnership with the MidSouth Food Bank and providing shelter support by collaborating with Room In The Inn. Your generosity enables Lindenwood to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we assist. For example, we have sent a mission group to rebuild homes in Western Kentucky, an area that was devastated by tornadoes. Additionally, we have taken our youth to locations like St. Louis and Tucson to educate them about racial disparity, financial literacy, and the importance of caring for others within our community of faith.

Although most gifts are given from current income by cash, check, or through our website, giving a gift of appreciated stock offers additional tax advantages. Consider donating from an Individual Retirement Account (IRA Account) through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), offering additional tax benefits in retirement. Our Lindenwood Foundation members would happily answer any questions about such gifting opportunities.

Life Insurance—You can contact your insurance provider and name the Lindenwood Christian Church Foundation as a percentage beneficiary of your existing life insurance policy.
Retirement Accounts — Do you know that your retirement accounts (401(k), 403(b), IRA) pass by beneficiary designation just like an insurance policy? Contact your retirement account administrator and ask to update your beneficiary designation form and add the Lindenwood Christian Church Foundation as a percentage beneficiary. 100% of the money going to a charitable organization from a traditional retirement account will benefit the charity. It is not taxed!
Last Will and Revocable Trusts — If you don't have a will, now is a good time to contact a local attorney and execute your end-of-life documents. If you have not reviewed these documents in the last five years, consider reviewing and adding a gift to the Lindenwood Christian Church Foundation.
